Junior Gerber Pattern Cutter and Atelier Assistant

Company Overview:

SALONI is an independent contemporary woman’s fashion brand launched in 2010 which is headquartered in London with an office in Hong Kong.  The company has built a strong international wholesale business (particularly in the USA) and has a successful and growing Direct to Consumer business through its own website.

Position Overview:

Working within the London studio, the Junior Gerber Pattern Cutter and Atelier Assistant will be working with a small team of Pattern Cutters, Seamstresses and Cutters.

Creating and amending patterns on the Gerber system – under the supervision of our Head of Pattern Cutting and Atelier, and assisting the rest of the team.

Responsibilities:

• Gerber pattern cutting, creation of accurate first patterns working from designer inspiration and sketches.

• Follow patterns through from sampling to production sealing.

• Provide garment measurement charts.

• Participate in relevant design/development/salesman sample fittings, being on hand to attend in production fittings as necessary     

• Scanning manual patterns using the Gerber AccuScan system.

• Converting file types for in-house teams and manufacturers.

• Working in initial costings using Easy Marker on Gerber.

• Printing Gerber patterns for sample packs

• Assist with toiling and sample amendments.

• Measuring sample garments.

• Working with pattern-cutting team to manage workload.

• Assist with general atelier organisation – tidiness and upkeep and tracking/ordering supplies.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Good knowledge of the Gerber digital system.

• Previous experience within a sample room or similar working environment.

• Highly organised, methodical and take responsibility for daily tasks

• Excellent communication; written and spoken.
