Description of Duties:

Title: Footwear and Accessories Coordinator

Classification: Nonexempt 

Hourly Rate*: $31.25/hr -$33.65/hr

Location: HQ, 14801 Califa St. Van Nuys, CA 91411

Schedule*: Hybrid

 

DÔEN is looking for a dynamic and experienced Footwear and Accessories Coordinator to join our growing team in Los Angeles. This role will assist with Product Development for Footwear and Accessories, throughout the development process and will work closely with the Accessories Design team on all styles in development, as well as communicate with all accessories vendors, and cross-functional teams accordingly. This role will help oversee general development, tracking and organization of all footwear and accessories protos, sales samples, photo samples and pre-production samples each season (in process and once in the office.) This role will assist in monitoring and maintaining development and production calendar deadlines and oversee WIPs for all product stages. The responsibilities below show a glimpse into the role's key functions and the impactful contributions this position makes.     

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

1. Production & Project Management

Track the production calendar/timelines to ensure on-time product delivery, accuracy of WIP data for cross-departmental reporting, and proactively problem-solving to meet deliverables.

Plan and prioritize workload to meet deadlines based on business priorities.

Ensure production data is accurate. Keep purchase orders up to date with any changes to units, cost, and delivery. Ensure cross-functional launch data is entered in a timely manner and accurately.

Execute strong attention to detail ensuring key milestones are met.

Monitor trim inventory and place projection replenishment orders.

Track proto, SMS, Photo Samples, and Pre-Production Sample ETAs (daily if needed) and provide the design team with accurate and up-to-date sample ETAs.

Assist in the creation and implementation of product development calendars.

Assist in monitoring the WIPs for all product stages for a fast-paced calendar.

Responsible for tracking and managing the deliveries of samples, materials & trim submits to/from vendors; maintaining an accessories tracking log and the in-office sample storage system.

 

  2. Vendor & Supplier Relations

Support Director of Import Production to negotiate and track product costs with vendors and ensure target margins are being met/exceeded.

Develop respectful and collaborative relationships with our vendor base (value chain)through clear daily communication.

Review WIP charts and time-in-action deadlines, costing, plus fabric and trim approvals and ensure vendor partners receive prompt approvals and feedback.

Send Projections and Production  Orders (PO’s) to vendors and confirm bulk deliveries & time in action.

Update PO cancel dates and ETA’s as needed until goods are handed over; update cross-functional departments as needed (Design, Merch, Production, etc.)

Assist with  reviewing T&A with vendors for each style in development and determining projection deadlines; communicating these projection deadlines to cross-functional teams as needed (such as the Merch team at collection review and thereafter.)

Follow up on QC issues and communicate with vendors about QC failures and reports.

 Place orders for trims for sampling with nominated vendors as needed.

Communicate packing, shipping, labeling and compliance requirements and instructions for wholesale customers to vendors as needed.

 

  3. Cross-functional Collaboration

Collaborate closely with the Accessories Design team; attend regular to review the status of all styles in development and any QC issues.

Attend necessary pre-production, production meetings, and collection review meetings.

Continuously communicate to team members on product updates, approvals, and issues.

Main point of contact/communicator of changes and alerts cross-functional departments.

 

4. Quality Control & Problem-Solving

Follow up on QC issues and communicate with vendors about QC failures and reports.


5. Process Improvement & Efficiency

Exceptional organizational skills to help manage multiple lines and/or categories within Footwear and Accessories.

Detail oriented, organized, and adaptable in change on deliverables and special requests.

 

  6. General Organizational & Administrative Tasks

Responsible for general organization of samples, materials & trim submits, and archival reference samples.

Perform additional duties and assignments, as requested.

 

  7. Environmental & Social Responsibility

Support company goals related to Environmental & Social Responsibility, specifically upholding goals and initiatives related to Dôen’s Preferred Material Strategy, Responsible Purchasing Practices and Scorecards.

 

Qualifications:

Minimum 1-3 years experience in accessories and/or apparel production.

Experience of Product Development for both Domestic and Import.

Degree in Footwear Manufacturing, Product Development, or similar field (preferred). 

Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Netsuite proficiency preferred

 Exemplary interpersonal skills with demonstrated success in both written and verbal communication

Excellent computer skills

 Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize workload, including competing deadlines

 Ability to work under pressure in an environment of constant shifting priorities and change

 Ability to proactively troubleshoot and problem-solve

 

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodation.

Periods sitting at a desk, typing, and working on a computer.

Able to life/move/push/pull objects up to 25 lbs.

Able to walk, sit and stand for periods of time.

Able to operate equipment such as computers, copy machines, phones.

Must be able to access various areas of a given location.
